I love expressing heart-felt and inspired words that come unseen at times, yet powerful and profound within.
Enlightenment, in between the lines.

As you will find, I truly believe in the divine power of Gratitude. And how, by that power, it can change lives.

~ Poi ~

"A meal without Poi
is like cornflakes without the milk"
(there's Poi in there somewhere with all of that food!)

In celebration of "Aloha Friday" I bring to the table . . . "Poi."

What exactly is Poi?  Poi, a glutinous purple paste made from pounded taro root (one of the most nutritious carbohydrates known) is the staple starch food of the Hawaiians. Poi had great significance in the Hawaiian culture, as it represents Haloa, the ancestor of chiefs and kanaka maoli (Native Hawaiians). There was a great reverence for the presence of poi at the table. It was unforgivable to have a quarrel, argue or haggle when poi was on the table. Pleasant conversation and heartiness was promoted.

So the next time you are at a Luau or wherever Poi is served - give it a try.  You just might like it . . . or you just might not.  But you'll never know until you taste it!

Have an "ono" Aloha Friday Bruddah!

p.s. . . . a little treat for you! : )
